This monthly newsletter is a wonderful, fun resource for all information related to our club!
President's Message
Your September homework assignment was: What can you do to impact and prepare today's youth for tomorrow's world? Reminisce on or share with me what you've done so we can help spread the good news.
Reading the Rotary magazine is an easy and engaging way to stay informed about Rotary. In each issue, you’ll find a blend of local Rotary news (Turn to page 15 to read about Peter Teahen and John Ockenfels!) and international stories. By learning about successful club projects from around the world, you can get new ideas for our club.
The World Health Organization designates October 10 as World Mental Health Day. In the President's Message of the October Rotary Magazine, President R. Gordon R. McInally said that we need to learn how to not just ask "How are you?" but "How are you really?" Consider reaching out to a fellow Rotarian to ask them how they are really doing. This action-step will prepare you for our two-part Mental Health Series in November and March.
This month, we look forward to hearing from Jim Peterson, a founder of the D6000 Xicotepec Project, and a club and project planning meeting. Please come with project ideas that we can implement either at the local or international level. We will have access to a district grant in Spring 2024 to assist in funding our project. Consider coming up with fundraising ideas too!
If you need some inspiration, browse Rotary Showcase to find project ideas.
As always, watch your email with more information from Secretary Erin Steffen or myself. Additional service projects may come available throughout the month!
If you are interested in learning something new or have an idea of a speaker or a service project, please reach out to me so we can work together to get it on the schedule!
You are invited to visit Sunrise Rotary at Matthew 25 on Thurs, Oct 5 at 7am at Matthew 25 Groundswell Cafe for a very special program with Rotarian Joe Wiegand of North Dakota reprisingTheodore Roosevelt.
