Last Week:
Last we we welcomed our newest member, Gene Johnston to our club! Gene is a semi-retired agriculture writer who is new to the Mt. Vernon-Lisbon community. At our board meeting last we we spoke about participating in the activities at Heritage Days. Please mark your calendar for July 9 from NOON until 8 PM to assist with a game booth. Details are also coming soon about participation in the Mini Olympics on July 7 and the summer picnic and Tri-City meeting this fall!
This Week:
Meet at One Mission Fundraising at 11:45 AM (108 1st Street SE, Unit 1, Mount Vernon, IA 52314). There will be a 20 minute tour and presentation. After that we will go to Skillet Cafe (across the street from One Mission) where there will be a section of tables reserved for us. They were not able to reserve the deck area for us, but if there is room once we arrive we are free to move out there. Please note that the food prep may take a while depending on how busy it is, so please plan ahead and if you know you will need to leave promptly, it might be best to stop there before the tour and place your order.
Next Week:
We welcome Carey Bostian and Miera Kim of Red Cedar Chamber Music to talk about their unique organization. During the meeting we will also hear a student performance of the Hilltop Chamber Music Festival at Cornell College.
Other Information:
We are always looking for interesting programs for the club. If you have any ideas please contact programs chair, Julia Andrews West at julia.andrews.west@gmail.com
