Now that we’ve reached the midway point of the Rotary year, it’s a good time to take a look at where we are in achieving our Rotary Foundation goals for the 2021-2022 year.
Factoring in some lag time from Rotary International, we are currently well on our way to meeting our goals.  Our PolioPlus Fund goals was set at an ambitious $1,700 for this year.  As of January 2, we are showing donations of $505.  For the Annual Fund, we set a goal of $4,400.  As of January 2, our total donations are listed as $2,389.  Both of these numbers put us in a great position to reach our set goals in the next six months.  To donate, click on this link: https://my.rotary.org/en/donate, sign-in to your myrotary account, and then choose what you would like to support.  You can also fill out an ACH form to make a one-time payment. Contact Treasurer Rebecca Schultz to receive the form.

With all of that said, it is important to remember why we are raising this money and what we can accomplish through the Rotary Foundation.  As we continue to live and adjust to life in a pandemic, keep in mind that without Rotary Foundation funding we could likely still be fighting Polio along with the current COVID-19 strains.  With Foundation dollars, the world has been made better through projects providing clean drinking water, new schools, expanded agricultural projects, and a myriad of health service projects; not to mention providing beds to children in Linn County, needed supplies to students in need at Marion Independent, and a trailer to help reduce waste in our area (and possibly provide even more funding for our club).  Thank you for all the donations we have already received and for help in meeting our goals by the end of our Rotary year.
